Earlier I wrote about how I upgraded the hdd in my wife’s Macbook Pro from 80GB to 320GB. Well I recently sold the machine, upgrading to the 13″ MBP. I kept the 320GB disk and decided it would be great in one of the PS3’s, especially since running the PlayTV tuner which really sucks up valuable PS3 hard disk space.
The disk swap was easy. Go to the Settings, System, Backup. Do a backup to a spare external USB disk (fat32)
Remove the cover from the bottom of your PS3, use a philips screwdriver to undo the sliding chassis, remove the drive, it’s pretty simple.
Once replaced, do a Restore from the same settings menu above. It could take a while depending how much stuff you have on your PS3. When done, it will be just like it was before, but… with more capacity. NICE! enjoy it
