Eye-Fi Wireless 2GB SD Card

This thing is really amazing. (im not just saying that for the hell of it)

It looks like a regular SD card that you stick in your camera and take photos with, but it’s so much more! It has wi-fi built in! This means that as you shoot your pics, it uploads the photos instantly (via wi-fi) to your favourite online photo gallery (like flikr, picasa, etc)

Works on both Mac and Windows, doesn’t take much to setup, obviously requires a nearby wireless network to upload images… so cool!

lawn care for idiots

I’ve neglected the lawn at my place for some time now. I think it’s the follow-on from the winter season. Winter means no need to water the garden and lawn, it gets neglected and left, the weeds go crazy, it’s not nice. A few days ago I bit the bullet and bought a lawn mower and edger. Both old school used items (The best kind). a Scott Bonnar 17″ reel mower with a 3hp Briggs and Stratton strapped to it. And a big three-wheel edger with a kawasaki 4-stroke attached. Hammer time.

I took to the lawns and edges like a wild man with ants in his pants. The result is pleasing, despite bringing to my attention that the lawn needs some real care. I’ve been researching lawn care a little lately. Fertilising, etc. Hopefully by Christmas my lawn and gardens look absolutely sensational! we shall see! my back hurts.

Installed Fedora 8

Today I installed Fedora 8, things went smoothly and it didn’t take long. I’ve not had a chance to put the OS through it’s paces, but it’s looking good and I’ve not come across any issues!

Mac for Media or Cinema?

I’m putting together some information on mac’s and their place in the home cinema or a/v setup. Do you have a mac connected to your a/v gear to watch movies/tv shows, etc?

I’d love to hear what you’ve experienced, any tips or tricks, what software and hardware you use, etc. Anything is useful.

Does the Mac have a place in home cinema/media? We know the AppleTV does….

Fedora 8 Released

Today Fedora 8 is available to the public. I’ve been trying to find a mirror to download it however it seems everyone has the same idea and most sites are flooded and timing out. The demand must be huge. I’m pulling it down now via torrent. This could take a while!

I’ll have more information soon. I hope to install it tonight and take a look at whats new or changed. Looks to be some nice improvements!
