Speaking of arcade games (post below re no limit arcade)… I’ve had an on going project to build an arcade machine for my cinema room. Originally I planned to build a cocktail cabinet (table style) however whilst browsing ebay I came across a couple of empty upright’s! winning the auction I drove out to pick the cabinets up the following day.
Enter project Lowboy! It needs a bit of work, but I just keep thinking about the completed project, so much fun!
I have, one lowboy cabinet, fluro light for marquee, 19″ monitor, PC, coin mechanism, full set of sticks and buttons.
I need, laminex to re-cover the sides and front of the machine, castor wheels, wiring, new t-moulding, new top glass, perspex to cover marquee, a bezel of some kind for the monitor.. It will be a MAME machine so I’ll need to do some software config and decide on a front end (menu system).
I’ve already gotten stuck into it!
For a little while I’ve been considering cranking up a flash game web site. Just something simple with loads of games on it. Everyone loves flash games.

It’s still a bit of a work in progress, but the games that are online are all working and are great fun, check them out! I’ve got plenty more games to add too, so there will be no shortage of new fun stuff to check out.
So a couple of weeks ago, Melissa and I went to the cinema to check out Transformers, with some mates.
I watched transformers as a child (cartoon), but can’t say that I was heavily into it, so I was unsure what to expect. Let me just say the special effects were mind blowing, the entire movie is just action packed. You just cant look away! I think Michael Bay has a winner here…. Oh, speaking of Directors, I’m sick of people saying “wow, what a great spielburg movie”… Can I just say that spieburg was a producter, not a director for this film. No doubt he had something to do with the movie, but lets just give Michael Bay the credit he deserves!
On another note, the latest Harry Potter film is due out this week. Exciting times indeed. Can I say that J.K.Rowling is really RAKING IN THE MONEY RIGHT NOW!? damn. Everyone knows she already has more wealth than the Queen of England. hah. Bullcrap aside, I’m looking forward to the latest film, despite not being a real Potter-fan.. I’ve not read any of the books, but the movies are pretty cool. (I’m not a book guy).
This saturday I’ll be cranking up all of the potter films on my home cinema, back to back. Marathon style. Following this we will probably go watch the latest movie at the cinema on Sunday. bring it!
If only we could have a Ghostbusters 3, Goonies 2, etc… I’m an 80’s adventure movie junkie! I guess it’s what I grew up with!

A bunch of us are heading up to Geraldton, Western Australia to race a 1/10 electronic off-road meet. Should be great fun. It’s roughly 500km’s away from my house, so a 1000km round trip! should take around 5hrs each way. (google maps rocks)
I plan to race 4wd and 2wd buggy, see how we go…. I’ll be running Novak GTB brushless systems in both cars, 5.5R for the 4wd, and 7.5R or 6.5R for the 2wd. The track is apparently really massive (from the pictures I’ve seen)

I decided (just two seconds ago, no wait, 9 seconds ago now) that I will probably blog my experience in obtaining an Apple iPhone here in Australia. Looks like I’ll be waiting a pretty long time (Dec 07 perhaps? or 2008?) so there might not be a lot of updates until we get closer to an official release date anyway.
I will post any news and information I can find in regards to an Australian release….
a little while ago, Skype announced an update for mac skype which apparently improves audio quality!

Well the American’s have their iPhone, yay. Shame us Aussies have to wait, but the more I think about it, the more I reckon it’s a good thing. (waiting)
Lets look at what happened with the Macbook Pro (issues) and how they were sorted out over the future revisions. It will be the same story with the iPhone, no doubt. People are already complaining about bugs or missing features (or should I say, features that THEY think should be on the iPhone but are not?)
In any case. I’m happy to wait.
