Super Max

Max has been slowly maturing and toning down since we had him ‘fixed’. I guess his testosterone levels are falling…

Last night I took him to his training class and he was very good. He actually listens to what I say! Brilliant!

I’ve gotta get some more recent photo’s of him, he’s a massive fluff ball!

Apple WWDC 07

Well, I got to work this morning and had a look at macrumors forums, to find a pile of threads about random WWDC stuff. There’s talk about iPhone and developing for it. Apparently Web 2.0 / Ajax, who knows. Who cares, just get me a damn phone please.

A bit of chat about Leopard, it’s new features (so cool) I love the coverflow in finder, totally rad. I also love the “back to my mac” feature (fancy VPN), but not if it absolutely requires .mac. meh.

I only watched half of the keynote this morning when I got to work. It dragged on, and I have things to do (like update my blog, ha ha).

How cool is it that Electronic Arts and iD software are ramping up the mac games. I love that!

Apple stock apparently dropped 3 or 4 percent during/after the keynote, possibly because Steve’o didn’t really announce anything that new. A lot of people bitching and moaning about this, hoping for new stuff, like an ultra-portable Macbook Pro, maybe a new iMac.

I thought we’d have a new iMac, maybe new Mac Mini’s (or cancellation of them), new iSight’s, or new displays with iSights.

The more I think about it, the more I understand that Apple know exactly what they are doing. WWDC is about development, apps, leopard, not cool consumer machines, iPhones, and etc. All in good time. I’m sure all the cool new hardware is well on it’s way. Must stay cool. With the iPhone and Leopard really chewing a lot of Apple’s dev time, I’m sure we can be patient and wait for all the rest to come.

Some very exciting times ahead for Apple and those who enjoy Apple products. I for one know I’ll be upgrading my three Mac’s to Leopard. Buying two iPhones (one for wife too) and generally smiling. Bring it!

new 21″ monitor at work

So my new Samsung monitor arrived at work yesterday. It was supposed to be the 20″ model. It arrived and to my surprise is the 21″ model! the SyncMaster 215TW. It’s pretty damn nice, and has LOADS of inputs compared to the 20″. (analog vga, digital, component, composite, audio L/R, S-video, etc) where the 20″ has only D-sub analog and digital (for computers).

It’s real nice to look at, has loads of features, and the cool ‘rotation’ feature and software. So you can rotate it say 90′ and use it for long doco, art, whatever. The PC (win xp at work) detects the rotation and rotates the screen automatically.

Of course, I plugged my Macbook Pro into it, and played around. LOVELY. Aperture is great, movies are great, it’s just GREAT. This thing would definitely look tops at home on my desk. I was looking at an Apple 30″. but working on this 21″ is actually quite good, and rather overwhelming despite not being as large as a 30″.

I haven’t done any calibration yet, it’s mainly just for work stuff, but hey. Why not fire up a DVD and run PIP (picture in picture)… have something going in the corner while I work hehe.. nice.

here’s a super crappy pic i took with my phone in low res.

new Macbook Pro’s

Today Apple introduced new Macbook Pro notebooks to the market. Well, they are updated specs, not so much new machines or anything.

LED backlit screens (more batt life)
faster CPU’s
different chipset (santa rosa)
and a few other things over the previous model.

My Core Duo 2.0Ghz is starting to get old! Going to have to upgrade at some stage!
